Bomb tail splices consist of a precision formed metal wire barrel encased in vinyl insulating material. The vinyl material used as an insulation for the splices is highly resistant to abrasion and will resist temperatures up to 90 C (194 F). The splice fins are marked with the A logo, the wire range of the splice, letter coding that indicates the maximum voltage and temperature for the splice (VS or ECV), and listing agency (UL or CSA). The wire size marking indicates the range of wire sizes that can be used in combination in the splice.
